Chicago (IL), United States – A large flour producer in the US manufactures and distributes corn flour as an ingredient in various food products. Roughly one year ago plant engineers installed three 6-inch Chain-Vey tubular drag conveyors for the transport of yellow and white corn flour. The Chain-Veys supplied by Modern Process Equipment (MPE) replaced screw conveyors and pneumatic conveyors that resulted in poor customer feedback with product being out of spec.
Schliengen, Germany – A manufacturer of wood pellets processes raw materials such as planing chips or wood chips (wood waste) to produce wood pellets. To ensure optimal adjustment of the drying process, the company uses SWR engineering‘s M-Sens 2 moisture sensor. The moisture is measured while the material is transported by a screw conveyor from the oven to the storage silo.
Sarasota (FL), USA — Whether in the production of ceramic raw materials or the processing of these raw materials into ceramic products, moisture is the key to achieving the best quality of the final product. MoistTech offers optimized solutions for moisture measurement, which enable users to increase their profits, reduce material waste and downtime and improve overall customer satisfaction when processing ceramic raw materials.
The DUSTFIX® Dust Conditioner was developed to condition industrial dust in an economical manner, considerably simplifying handling and disposal operations. Innovative SINTTM engineering polymer components make the DUSTFIX® Conditioner suitable for continuous duty. In a particularly short mixing time, throughput rates ranging from 20 to 80 m³/h are achieved.
The RWN Rotary Feeders by TOREX® are designed for controlled discharge and feeding of pellets or wood chips from silos, hoppers or similar containers. The excellent cutting performance by the Hardox® rotor and feed rates of 2, 5, 10 and 20 litres per revolution, in combination with the available speeds of 20 and 30 revolutions per minute, make the RWN the ideal rotary feeder for use in solids combustion plants.
Solids handling specialist, Ajax Equipment, has supplied mineral processing equipment company, Bradley Pulverizer, with a twin screw feeder for handling phosphate at an Egyptian processing plant. In addition, Ajax has supplied designs for a hopper and flow insert to prevent ‘rathole’ formation, and encourage mass flow, in a hopper containing the phosphate powder.
The MLH Laboratory Mixer is an extremely efficient, versatile mixer that finds its application in a number of fields thanks to its outstanding price-performance ratio. The MLH is used in both private and university research laboratories, as well as in testing facilities of various industries and service providers.
PLASTIROL from the Dutch town of Sliedrecht is a manufacturer of plastic foil produced in large rolls. For their raw materials, which are recycled from production waste, in the past they used bulk bags. This usually caused many storage, handling, discharge and replacement issues in their internal logistics system. The move towards larger storage silos linked to a vast duct network became mandatory.
Whitstable, Kent – Flexicon has introduced a new bulk bag lifting frame with telescoping arms that accommodates bulk bags produced in an increasing range of sizes.
The lifting frame is optional on all BFC models of Flexicon’s BULK-OUT® discharger line, and available for up to two tonne capacities to replace conventional lifting frames of any make or model of discharger that employs a hoist to position and suspend bulk bags.
