G3 announces new Grain Elevator near Morinville (AB), Canada

Winnipeg (MB), Canada – G3 Canada Ltd. is continuing to expand its grain origination network in Western Canada with the addition of a new primary elevator near Morinville, Alberta. G3 Morinville will have a capacity of 42,000 tonnes and will be able to unload trucks in less than 5 minutes. Bolovia/ACI Systems in JV to extract and process Lithium from Salar de Uyuni Salt Lake

Berlin, Germany – On 12 December 2018, the Bolivian state-owned company Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB) and the German company ACI Systems Alemania GmbH (ACISA) founded the joint venture YLB-ACISA. The aim of the joint venture is the sustainable extraction and industrialization of lithium, as well as other raw materials from Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt lake. GFG Alliance reveals Plans for new Mega Steel Plant in Whyalla, Australia

Sydney (NSW), Australia – GFG Alliance executive chairman Sanjeev Gupta has revealed that the company is planning to construct a steel plant in Whyalla, Australia. According to Sanjeev Gupta, the new plant will be the largest in the Western world, capable of producing 10 million tonnes per year, with the ability and infrastructure to double capacity in time. Metso wins a Pellet Plant Equipment Order from JSW Steel in India

Helsinki, Finland Metso has won a significant order to deliver a pellet plant, including grinding, filtration and a pyro-processing pellet plant to a large-scale steel operation of JSW Steel Ltd. in India. This new order is Metso’s largest global pellet plant delivery, and the single largest installation for Metso 2040-60 Vertical Plate Pressure Filters VPA, which are used in heavy-duty dewatering applications.

Rochester (NY), USA – Sweetwater Energy, a biotechnology company based in Rochester (NY), USA,  and AS Graanul Invest, Europe’s largest wood pellet producer, based in Estonia, will build a commercial-scale integrated biorefinery that will produce clean cellulosic sugars and highly pure lignin from 50,000 tons of local hardwood each year.

Hatch wins Contract for Definitive Feasibility Study on Rare Earths Project in Australia

Perth (WA), Australia – Arafura Resources Ltd. (ASX: ARU) has appointed Hatch Ltd. as Lead Engineering Study Manager for the Definitive Feasibility Study on Arafura’s 100%-owned Nolans Neodymium-Praseodymium Project in the Northern Territory, Australia. Arafura is planning to mine up to five million tonnes each year by open cut mining to produce 650,000 t of ROM ore as feed to a three-stage crushing circuit.

BHEL wins Order for 3×800 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant in Jharkhand, India

New Delhi, India – Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a Rs.11,700 Crore (approx. USD 1.7 Billion) order for setting up a 3×800 MW supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhand. The order for setting up the 3×800 MW Patratu Super Thermal Power Station Expansion, Phase-I has been placed on BHEL by Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL – a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd. in Joint Venture with Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited).

Consortium signs Project Development Agreement for Waste-to-Chemistry Facility in Rotterdam

Montréal (QC), Canada – A consortium of companies comprising Air Liquide, AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals, Enerkem and the Port of Rotterdam has signed a project development agreement covering initial investments in an advanced waste-to-chemistry facility in Rotterdam. The facility will be the first of its kind in Europe to provide a sustainable alternative solution for non-recyclable wastes, converting waste plastics and other mixed wastes into new raw materials.
