East Perth (WA), Australia – Fortescue Metals Group subsidiary FMG Magnetite and its joint venture partner Formosa Steel IB have approved the development of Stage 2 of the Iron Bridge Magnetite Project. The Stage 2 development includes a wet ore processing facility with a capacity 22 million mtpa, a 135 km concentrate pipeline, as well as port handling facilities including concentrate dewatering, covered storage and reclaiming/conveying to existing port outload circuits. Copenhagen, Denmark – Xuan Thanh Cement has awarded FLSmidth a contract to deliver equipment for a brownfield cement production line in Ha Nam province in Vietnam. The contract has a value of around DKK 550 million (approx. USD 82 million). The order is due to be fully delivered by the end of 2020, and once operational the production line will have a capacity of 12,500 tonnes per day.

Valby, Denmark – FLSmidth has signed a contract for a greenfield cement plant with Abay Industrial Development Share Company. The plant will be located near the city of Dejen in Ethiopia. The contract is valued at around EUR 100 million. Completion of the order is expected during the second quarter of 2022, and once fully operational the plant will have a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day. Helsinki, Finland – Metso has won a significant order to deliver a pellet plant, including grinding, filtration and a pyro-processing pellet plant to a large-scale steel operation of JSW Steel Ltd. in India. This new order is Metso’s largest global pellet plant delivery, and the single largest installation for Metso 2040-60 Vertical Plate Pressure Filters VPA, which are used in heavy-duty dewatering applications.
