GR Engineering selected Lead Engineer for BCI Minerals’ Mardie Salt & Potash Project Definitive Feasibility Study

West Perth (WA), Australia – BCI Minerals Ltd. announced the appointment of GR Engineering Services Ltd. as the lead engineer for the Mardie Salt & Potash Project Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS). The Study is targeting completion of all designs and primary approvals for a 4 million tpa salt and 100.000 tpa sulphate of potash operation by late 2019, with a Final Investment Decision targeted by Q1 2020. NAIF made Investment Decision to support Development of Australia’s first Sulphate-of-Potash Project

Cairns (QLD), Australia – The Board of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility (NAIF) has made an Investment Decision to provide Kalium Lakes Ltd. loans of up to AUD 74 million to support the Beyondie Sulphate of Potash Project (SOP), located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Given there is currently no SOP production in Australia this will create a new domestic industry. FLSmidth signs contract for large Cement Plant in Ethiopia

Valby, Denmark FLSmidth has signed a contract for a greenfield cement plant with Abay Industrial Development Share Company. The plant will be located near the city of Dejen in Ethiopia. The contract is valued at around EUR 100 million. Completion of the order is expected during the second quarter of 2022, and once fully operational the plant will have a capacity of 5,000 tonnes per day. G3 announces new Grain Elevator near Morinville (AB), Canada

Winnipeg (MB), Canada – G3 Canada Ltd. is continuing to expand its grain origination network in Western Canada with the addition of a new primary elevator near Morinville, Alberta. G3 Morinville will have a capacity of 42,000 tonnes and will be able to unload trucks in less than 5 minutes. Bolovia/ACI Systems in JV to extract and process Lithium from Salar de Uyuni Salt Lake

Berlin, Germany – On 12 December 2018, the Bolivian state-owned company Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB) and the German company ACI Systems Alemania GmbH (ACISA) founded the joint venture YLB-ACISA. The aim of the joint venture is the sustainable extraction and industrialization of lithium, as well as other raw materials from Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt lake. GFG Alliance reveals Plans for new Mega Steel Plant in Whyalla, Australia

Sydney (NSW), Australia – GFG Alliance executive chairman Sanjeev Gupta has revealed that the company is planning to construct a steel plant in Whyalla, Australia. According to Sanjeev Gupta, the new plant will be the largest in the Western world, capable of producing 10 million tonnes per year, with the ability and infrastructure to double capacity in time. Metso wins a Pellet Plant Equipment Order from JSW Steel in India

Helsinki, Finland Metso has won a significant order to deliver a pellet plant, including grinding, filtration and a pyro-processing pellet plant to a large-scale steel operation of JSW Steel Ltd. in India. This new order is Metso’s largest global pellet plant delivery, and the single largest installation for Metso 2040-60 Vertical Plate Pressure Filters VPA, which are used in heavy-duty dewatering applications.

New Biorefinery Project in Estonia will use 50,000 tons of Hardwood each Year

Rochester (NY), USA – Sweetwater Energy, a biotechnology company based in Rochester (NY), USA,  and AS Graanul Invest, Europe’s largest wood pellet producer, based in Estonia, will build a commercial-scale integrated biorefinery that will produce clean cellulosic sugars and highly pure lignin from 50,000 tons of local hardwood each year.
