Sonthofen, Germany – Talleres Alquezar has been successfully using two BHS mixers in a modular plant to produce a total volume of 400,000 m3 of hydro dam concrete in Portugal since 2017. The twin-shaft batch mixer has debunked the industry myth that the technology is unsuitable for these types of concrete mixes and has shown that it is the technology of choice during this demanding major project. The Spanish plant builder was even able to surpass the high concrete requirements with regard to the suitability of the mixer for the project. Bolton, United Kingdom – The design the Ajax Equipment LynflowTM Chute arose from a demanding duty requested by a user, who wanted to monitor the rate of discharge down a chute from an Ajax continuous mixer. The task was difficult because the product had poor flow properties, the very small rate of discharge from the mixer fluctuated and was spread over a relatively wide path, whereas the monitoring device required a steady bed thickness of at least 10 mm deep.
Utica (NY), United States – A new Rotary Continuous Mixer model CM-16X4-SS from Munson Machinery provides continuous, high-capacity mixing of bulk materials with or without liquid additions at low cost per volume of output. Powered by a 0.37 kW explosion-proof motor, the mixer consists of a 41 cm diameter by 122 cm long cylindrical drum with fixed internal mixing flights that impart a gentle, back-flow mixing action free of dead spots.
Bolton, United Kingdom – Solids handling equipment maker, Ajax Equipment, announced a new type of silo cascade mixer enabling batch powder processing in squat, square mixing containers in place of tall conventional conical hoppers, for plants where space is limited. The mixer combines mass flow and intake recycling screw technology that minimises power consumption whilst providing efficient mixing.
