Beckum, Germany – Sichuan Yadong Cement has been relying on a 12.5 km overland conveyor from BEUMER Group in order to convey limestone from their quarry to their silo. When constructed in 2009 it was the longest belt conveying system in BEUMER history (The company installed a longer system in 2016). In a second project BEUMER installed two additional overland conveyors, with an overall length of 13.7 kilometres, transporting limestone to the cement plant. Unlike the first project, the task here was to build the conveyor across inhabited areas. Noise emission limitations set forth by the government also needed to be considered.
Hannover, Germany – Systems or devices that come into contact with sugar are manufactured in accordance with relevant standards. These ensure that the sugar remains clean throughout the entire journey from the field to the supermarket. Accordingly, these standards also apply for the ContiTech conveyor belts that transport the sugar in the import and export terminal of the international Euroports group in the port of Antwerp.

Rosenfeld, Germany – Material carryback is one of the main causes of potential problems in belt conveyor systems. To prevent this, operators rely on precleaners for coarse materials and secondary cleaners for fine cleaning, and in many cases these cleaning systems can remove more than 90% of carryback. The new Y-Type by Flexco is a flexible secondary cleaner, which can be equipped with various polyurethane or carbide blades, giving users a system that meets their particular requirements in the most efficient way.
Canberra (ACT), Australia — CSIRO’s partnership with industry players Advisian and RFC Ambrian to produce the next generation bulk ore sorting technology is now being closely looked at by potential buyers. NextOre, the company being formed by the three partners, has developed an advanced sensor system that takes advantage of magnetic resonance technology. It illuminates batches of ore with short pulses of radio waves, assessing ore grade and enabling high tonnage sorting at extremely high speeds.
